The Insulated Buddhist

Union Square Subway

Few people can stand the rush of people at Union Square.  Fewer can literally stand peacefully in the subway as human detritus of all shapes and sizes stream past, adding their own screetches and howls to those caused by the subway car wheels grinding over the curving metal rails.

The Insulated Buddhist is a rare breed.  Not only does he protect himself from the onslaught of humanity, but he has made it a mission to raise the entire city's awareness of its own temporality.

Holding up his sign promoting Vedas Upanishads Bhagavad Gita Meditation, The Insulated Buddhist is there for us, if only we could for a second stop trying to get somewhere else.
