Kenny

Williamsburg, Brooklyn

It's a source of pride among residents of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, to boast about how long they've lived in the neighborhood.  But the facts are simple: regardless of that number, Kenny Perrone has lived there longer.

As his friends were buying and selling overheated real-estate to the Manhattan diaspora, Kenny kept his cool as best one could making pasta and patiently tending the century-old brick oven in his classic pizza establishment, the Brick Oven Gallery.

Times changed, old neighborhood traditions were lost, and a friend of his sold the building that housed the invaluable brick oven.  But Kenny is more than a brick oven.

And so he just rolled down the street and opened up Kenny's Trattoria instead, serving even better food which can now be properly attributed to his own culinary mastery, and not the aura of his equipment.
